📍 Knowle Farm, SP5

🎟️ 20 tickets available

The healthcare system in the UK is under tremendous pressure. The NHS recently outlined its 10-year plan to shift from treatment to prevention, yet it didn't mention the natural world once - a significant oversight. It has been found that just 20–30 minutes outside measurably lowers cortisol. While a study revealed that patients recovering from surgery in hospital rooms with a view of trees have shorter hospital stays, need fewer strong painkillers, and receive fewer negative comments in nurses' notes. This healing power of nature is set against unsustainable pressure on healthcare professions. More than 40% of NHS staff reported being unwell due to work-related stress in the past 12 months, and almost 1 in 3 said they feel burnt out because of their work.

Common Nature is a natural health education business with an ambition to help 1 million people be healthier through time in local nature. As part of this work, we want to support the wellbeing of healthcare professionals, so they're better resourced to care for their patients and communities. The hope also isfor a domino effect — for some of these practices and nature-connection principles to find their way into our healthcare system.

Common Nature is already working with the NHS in London, and would like to offer this day to healthcare professionals who are local to Knowle Farm. The day moves between two things: a taster of our Natural Health Programme - practical tools across breathwork, movement, nutrition, sleep, and nature - and a collective exploration of what the healthcare system in this country needs, and where nature can play a role.

This day will be hosted by Simon Lamb, Founder of Common Nature and Wellness Practitioner, together with Andres Roberts, Advisor to the brand and Founder of The Bio-Leadership Project. The day is fully funded by Common Nature, with no expectation of payment. That said, we'll invite optional contributions before and after the event, for anyone who feels called to support the movement.
